Our Programs

Preschool

Fairville Friends School offers a variety of preschool programs for children who are at least two years old by September 1st. Our morning preschool program runs from 8:30am to 12:15pm, with options for two, three, or five-day schedules. We follow an academic calendar (September through June). Morning sessions are from 8:30am to 12:15pm. Class sizes are small at Fairville with seven to twelve children in each of our preschool classrooms and an average teacher: child ratio of 1:6. Our very small two-year-old classroom has extremely limited availability, with priority given to siblings of our current families. All of our teachers hold at least a Bachelor’s degree and participate in ongoing professional development. We also offer afternoon enrichment sessions for children who are at least 3 1/2, potty-trained, and ready for a full day. These sessions run from 1:00 to 3:15pm.

Preschool Playtime Morning Sessions

These morning sessions are available for parents or caregivers and their children ages 18 months to three years. They serve as an introduction to the preschool world by exposing young children to art, music, finger play, exploration, circle time, and a group setting. Also, these sessions help acquaint children with Fairville’s preschool environment so they are better prepared socially and emotionally at the start of their first school year. Classes are offered in 16-week sessions and meet Tuesday 9:00-10:15am, or Wednesday from 9:00-10:15am and 10:45 am to 12:00 noon. Cost per session is $400. The Fall 2024 Session begins on September 10th/11th but a few spaces remain. Please reach out to Dione@fairvillefriends.org to enroll.

Enrichment Classes

Fairville offers afternoon enrichment classes in Art, Nature & Science to children ages 3 1/2 to 5 years; kindergarten students are also welcome. Classes meet from 1:00 - 3:15pm.  You may choose to enroll your child in an enrichment class for an 8-week session, a semester or the full year.  Information about can be found on our downloads page.

Fun Fridays

This fun, hands-on class incorporates hands-on learning, art and outdoor play into a variety of topics throughout the year. Topics include cooking, theater, gardening, how things grow, construction and building structures to name a few.

Summer Camp

Mornings at Fairville Summer Camp echo with the sounds of laughing, happy children playing in the sandbox, listening to stories, or enjoying a romp through our garden sprinkler. Art and nature abound in this country setting. The easels are placed under a shady tree and campers are encouraged to paint or participate in other art activities, often under the watchful eyes of barnyard animals. Inside the farmhouse kitchen, nutritious snacks are prepared and brought outdoors to be enjoyed “picnic-style.” Click here to visit our Summer Camp website page for more info! or visit downloads for camp forms.

Food Served During Classes

Snacks and lunch are prepared at Fairville and are included in the tuition. We serve a vegetarian diet and focus on whole, unprocessed, and when available, organic foods.

Parent Involvement

Fairville Parents are invited to be actively involved in school activities, whether as visitors sharing their talents, by providing helping hands in the classroom, or by participating in fund raising projects. Additionally, families are invited to participate in a range of outreach projects throughout the school year in which we donate time and goods to various community organizations.
